iPhone (Click here for Android)

If you don't want your phone automatically setting alerts for new events in the stock calendar app, just follow these steps:
  1. Tap the settings icon on the iPhone home screen.
  2. Tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"
  3. Tap "Default Alert Times"
  4. Select "None" for each calendar so that new events will be created without native calendar alerts.

If you don't want your phone automatically setting alerts for new events in the stock calendar app, just follow these steps:
  1. Find and open the calendar app on your phone's home screen.
  2. Tap the options button at the top right to have a list appear. Tap the Settings option.
  3. Tap General Settings.
  4. Scroll down and make sure Notifications is set to on. Then tap Default Reminder Time and set it to None.

This won't affect already existing notifications but will ensure any new events won't send duplicate notifications (UpTo and stock calendar app).
